Orchestrion is a studio album by jazz guitarist Pat Metheny that was released by Nonesuch Records on January 26, 2010. Metheny's orchestrionics were built by Eric Singer and the League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots (LEMUR), Ken Caulkins at Ragtime West, Mark Herbert, Cyril Lance, and Peterson Electro-Musical Products.

Pat Metheny’s Orchestrion refers to a 19th century hybrid musical instrument of the same name that contained (usually) a wind orchestra, various percussion instruments, and sometimes a piano played by a pinned cylinder or a music roll - like a player piano. Metheny designed and plays one here thanks to a commissioned group of inventors, advanced solenoid switch technology, and pneumatics.

The reason is this new his album is "real" solo album, where Pat plays all instruments himself

It features Pat Metheny on guitar performing with the Orchestrion, a vast collection of mechanical instruments that surround Pat Metheny in this atmospheric setting. The focus of the performance is the Orchestrion Suite, a work written specifically for this combination and debuted on Pat Metheny’s Orchestrion album released earlier in 2010.

For the album by Pat Metheny, see Orchestrion (album). Orchestrion is a generic name for a machine that plays music and is designed to sound like an orchestra or band. Orchestrions may be operated by means of a large pinned cylinder or by a music roll and less commonly book music. The sound is usually produced by pipes, though they will be voiced differently from those found in a pipe organ, as well as percussion instruments. Many orchestrions contain a piano as well. 1918 Seeburg Orchestrion, "Style G", located at Clark's Trading Post in Lincoln, New Hampshire
