Their first album, Ompa til du dør, was released on this label in September 2001. It was critically acclaimed and became a success, first in Norway, later in Denmark and the Netherlands. The album won a Spellemannpris (Norwegian Grammy) for "best rock album", as well as two Alarm-awards (underground version of Spellemannprisen). The second album, Evig pint, was released in February 2003. Maestro, Vega, and a book (2005-2007).
There isn't a single moment on Ompa Til du Dør that isn't completely riveting. From the blistering opener "Kontroll på Kontinentet" through the Salvation Army Band closer "Mr. Kaizer Hans Constanze and Meg," the band maintains a level of energy and creativity that bubbles like beads of sweat and burns like a mountain train.

Ompa til du dør (Ompa until you die) is the debut album of Norwegian alternative rock group Kaizers Orchestra, released on September 1, 2001. After the dissolution of frontman Janove Ottesen and guitarist Geir Zahl's previous band, gnom, the two decided to create a new band. Building off of the song "Bastard", Kaizers Orchestra was slowly formed. The first known concert featuring Kaizers Orchestra songs was held at a pub called Det Beste Stedet (The Best Place) in Sandnes, Norway.
Ompa Til Du Dor was their first album, released in 2002, and they have since released two further LPs, Evig Pint in 2003 and Maestro in 2005. There's no conventional way to describe how the band sounds. The band's name gives one insight, they're definitely an orchestra of some kind, albeit a completely unheard of kind. Their sound is typified by a mix of alley-pan drums, raucous horns and dirty jazz guitar
